Principal's Message

Welcome to Mentone Elementary!

 

I am thrilled to welcome you and your family to the 2026–2027 school year at Mentone Elementary. At Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, our vision is clear: we are committed to doing whatever it takes to equip all students to be outstanding today, tomorrow, and beyond.

At Mentone Elementary, our dedicated staff is committed to providing a well-rounded, enriching educational experience where every child is challenged, supported, and celebrated. We strive to help students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and as future leaders.

One of our greatest priorities is ensuring that every student becomes a confident and successful reader. Through a systematic approach to reading instruction grounded in the Science of Reading, our teachers provide explicit, research-based instruction that builds strong foundational literacy skills. This commitment has helped Mentone Elementary consistently achieve a passing rate of over 90% on Indiana's IREAD-3 assessment, and we remain dedicated to building upon that success by providing every student with the instruction and support needed to become a proficient reader.

In addition to our strong academic focus, we provide students with meaningful leadership opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, and engaging instruction designed to foster curiosity, perseverance, and a love of learning. We are proud of our tradition of academic excellence and the caring school culture that makes Mentone Elementary feel like family. Above all, we remain committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can thrive.
