Hello, I am so glad you are here! My name is Emily McGriff and I am the guidance counselor at Mentone Elementary School. Before I started working at Mentone, I graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School and then attended Trine University! I am so grateful to be back in the community that has given me so much. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, spoiling my two dogs, drinking iced coffee, and doing yoga.

As an elementary school counselor, I love teaching DUSO (a character education class) for all students that attend Mentone, meeting one-on-one with individual students, and working with students through conflict resolution. Our main goal is to work to stabilize student behavior so that everyone has the best learning opportunities possible. Next year, I will also begin to coordinate, manage, and administer state-mandated testing. I feel as if there are always opportunities for growth!

As an employee at TVSC, I am committed to our vision by doing whatever it takes to equip all students to be outstanding today, tomorrow, and beyond.

I also follow the TVSC mission by being committed to student success through the development of character, leadership, and literacy.

In addition to this, I will embrace the core values of collaboration, leadership, character, and achievement to positively support students.
